What is Blot and Blood?
Blot and Blood is a community founded on the idea of becoming balanced and versatile individuals. Centered around the principles of adventure and intellect. With a focus on the outdoors and the arts.
Too often in society today, we find ourselves comfortable and complacent. We don't seek adventure or challenge. We choose knowledge over wisdom, compliance over courage, and greed over honor. With Blot and Blood we strive to bring back the rugged gentleman. The individual who is, as at home in the wilderness, as he is in the study. The man who is equally as comfortable in both the worlds of blot and blood
The origin of the name
The name Blot and Blood was inspired by the phrase, "The pen is mightier than the sword." The idea is that the pen, by its nature, is the superior instrument as its currency is vocabulary, not violence. This has led to the notion that intellectual pursuits are far more desirable than those of a physical nature. I argue that neither is superior but that they are both equal and necessary parts of being a well-rounded and versatile individual.

This concept applies, of course, to more than just warriors and combat. Too often today I come across men of one dimension; men who could strip an engine but have never read a line of poetry or men who could quote Shakespeare but couldn't change their own oil. With Blot and Blood, I want to share my journey as I strive to become more balanced; and create a community for others to join me on this quest so that we can learn and grow together.
